TEACHING

Charmaine is a dedicated and experienced harp teacher who works with students of all ages and levels — from young beginners and curious adults to conservatory-level musicians. Her approach combines strong technical foundations with expressive musical development, all within a warm, encouraging learning environment.

She currently serves as Harp Lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (University of the Arts Singapore), where she coaches diploma and degree students in both solo and chamber music settings. Under her guidance, students have performed as soloists with the NAFA Strings Orchestra and gained acceptance into prestigious programs such as the Glenn Gould School (Toronto, Canada) and the Manhattan School of Music (New York, USA).

In addition to her work at the tertiary level, Charmaine is passionate about nurturing beginner and intermediate harpists. She welcomes young children starting their first musical journey, as well as adults who have always dreamed of learning the harp. Her studio is a supportive and inclusive community where students learn from one another, share their progress, and grow together.

Charmaine also organises regular masterclasses, performance opportunities, and studio gatherings, giving her students the chance to build confidence, refine their performance skills, and connect with other harpists.

Her experience as a mentor for the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Music Makers, as well as her role as a jury member for harp examinations and recitals at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, further reflects her commitment to excellence in harp education.

Whether you're pursuing music professionally or learning the harp for personal enrichment, Charmaine is committed to helping you reach your full musical potential.
